Green Orchard Recruitment are thrilled to be working with a fantastic family-owned business to manage the recruitment of a Business Development Manager to join their business on a permanent basis.

Role: Business Development Manager (East Region)

Location: Remote (must be able to travel extensively)

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 + Commission + Car

As Business Development Manager, you will take responsibility for Business Development activities for the Eastern region.

You probably want to know what’s involved!

If you’ve done B2B sales for a couple of years elsewhere, you know what it takes. You’ll be working with a team of Inside Sales Advisors to identify new opportunities, grow existing accounts and manage several larger accounts. You’ll use your natural ability to build relationships with key contacts within existing and potential customers.

You’ll work remotely and spend significant time each week out on the road travelling to client sites across Eastern Region from Norwich to Peterborough as well as other locations including High Wycombe, Stevenage, Colchester, Cambridge & Chelmsford. Friday will generally be your admin day, working from home and planning your movements for the following week. On occasions you’ll need to travel to the Head Office in Willand (Mid-Devon) (5 mins off the M5 from either Junctions 27 or 28) as well as attending quarterly Sales Meetings, which are completed over a couple of days.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need proven experience in a similar Business Development capacity where you have consistently hit and exceeded targets. Although some meetings will be conducted online, you must have experience and be confident in operating in an in-person capacity. You will possess exceptional communication skills which you will utilise for your interactions with clients and internal stakeholders, particularly the Inside Sales Advisors supporting your work in the South-West region.

Our client operates within the clothing sector, so interest, knowledge or experience of this sector would be highly beneficial. That being said, the Business Development Managers for other regions come from a wide variety of sectors, but crucially all possess the right mindset to be able to adapt to a different sector.

In addition to the competitive salary (£30,000 - £35,000), following the successful completion of your probationary period, you will also be enrolled onto a highly competitive commission scheme, as well as having access to a companywide quarterly discretionary profit-led bonus scheme.
